Application monitoring, not endpoint monitoring
monitree watches uptime, SSL, and domains across every service you run — and links them into a dependency tree, so one root-cause failure sends one alert, not a storm.
Three minutes to full coverage
No monitor-by-monitor setup. Register the application, and monitree wires up monitoring, SSL, domain, and alerting for you.
Add an application
Register a primary domain plus any alternates — API, CDN, admin, staging. No manual monitor setup required.
monitree does the rest
Adding a domain automatically creates an HTTPS monitor, runs an SSL scan, looks up expiry via RDAP, and links it into your service tree.
Cascade suppression kicks in
When something fails, monitree walks the dependency graph, finds the root cause, and sends one consolidated alert instead of five.
Everything you need to know when something breaks
Deep protocol checks, dependency-aware alerting, and AI-assisted root-cause analysis — built for infrastructure teams.
Service Tree & Smart Alerting
A dependency graph of your applications and services that suppresses cascading alerts down to a single root-cause notification.

HTTP(S), TCP, DNS, ICMP, UDP, gRPC, and WebSocket checks with flexible assertions and multi-region confirmation.
Core monitoringSSL/TLS Certificate Monitoring
Deep chain validation, weak cipher and key detection, and Certificate Transparency log subscription — not just an expiry date.
ResponseOn-Call & Escalation
Multi-step escalation policies, rotating on-call schedules, and alerting across Slack, SMS, voice, and more.
CommunicationStatus Pages
Public, private, or internal status pages with automatic component status, subscriber notifications, and an embeddable uptime badge.

Statistical anomaly detection plus Claude-powered incident analysis that explains what broke and why.
Why teams choose monitree
A few things we built because the rest of the market either doesn't have them, or gates them behind an enterprise tier.
Unique to monitree
Cascade-aware alerting
A service dependency tree that suppresses downstream alerts and pages you once for the root cause.
Free Site Health Report
A no-signup SSL, DNS, blacklist, and security-header scan with an A–F grade — try it before you sign up for anything.
Probe IP self-monitoring
We check our own outbound IPs against blacklists and publish the result. Transparency about our infrastructure, not just yours.
Where we go deeper
SSL that goes past expiry
Full chain validation, weak cipher detection, and Certificate Transparency log subscription — not just a countdown.
Multi-region confirmation
A monitor is only marked down after failing from multiple regions, cutting false-positive pages from one flaky path.
Escalation on every tier
On-call schedules and multi-step escalation policies aren't locked to the top plan.
Frequently asked questions
What is monitree?
monitree is application monitoring, not just endpoint monitoring. It links your applications, services, sub-services, and domains into a dependency graph, then watches uptime, SSL certificates, and domain expiry across all of them from multiple regions.
How is monitree different from a typical uptime monitor?
Most uptime monitors treat every URL as unrelated, so one root-cause failure triggers a storm of separate alerts. monitree's service tree walks the dependency graph when something fails, finds the root cause, and suppresses alerts for everything downstream — sending one consolidated notification instead of five.
Does monitree monitor SSL certificates and domain expiry?
Yes. monitree validates the full certificate chain, flags deprecated TLS versions and weak ciphers, and checks OCSP stapling, key size, and CAA records. It also tracks domain expiry via RDAP (with WHOIS fallback), alerting at 90/60/30/14/7/3/1 days out.
Can monitree check services that aren't publicly reachable?
Yes, using the monitree probe agent — a small binary you run inside your VPC, on-prem network, or behind a firewall. It long-polls the monitree server for check jobs and reports results back, with zero inbound ports opened.
Does monitree have an API, CLI, or Terraform provider?
Yes. Every resource — applications, monitors, incidents, status pages — is available over REST with Bearer or OAuth2 auth. The CLI lets you define monitors as YAML and push, pull, and diff them against your live account, and the Terraform provider exposes monitor, notification-channel, and status-page resources for infrastructure-as-code setups.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. The Free plan includes 10–15 monitors with a 3-minute check interval, heartbeat monitoring, email alerts, and a read-only API — no credit card required.
